Alexander Butler | Design Services, LLC is a full-service Architecture & Interior Design firm founded in 2010. The firm specializes in the creation of beautiful moments, livable spaces, and bespoke design, tailored to client & context. We are unconstrained by style or aesthetic preferences and we achieve our success through an open, engaging & collaborative process.

In the last fifteen years, AB|DS has completed projects throughout New York City, Brooklyn, Westchester County & San Francisco, for a wide range of amazing clients, in a variety of styles, and under budgets large and small. Highlights include a contemporary Pied-a-Terre on Park Avenue, a gut renovation of a Soho Loft Space, and currently a 6000sf tri-plex renovation on East 58th St.

Alex has Architectural Degrees from the University of Virginia and Yale University, and during the almost two decades of his professional career prior to founding AB|DS, he worked both in New York & London for some of the most elite and respected firms in the world, including Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Kohn Pedersen Fox, and GRADE New York, all of which have added meaningful layers to Alex’s architectural perspective.

Panmela Alvim, our Head of Interior Design, has degrees in Architecture and Urbanism from the renowned University of Salvador (UNIFACS) and an MBA in Project Management from the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), both in Brazil. She spent 13 years as Head of Interiors at David Bastos Architects in Brazil, one of the most prominent and globally recognized Architecture and Design firms.

Panmela has overseen numerous multimillion-dollar projects for elite clients, including celebrities, business luminaries, politicians, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, consistently delivering illustrious, stunning and functional living spaces. Her contributions to the design world also extend beyond her client work, having played a critical role in almost a dozen CASACOR exhibitions - the most prominent Architecture and Design expo in Brazil - with her designs receiving extensive media coverage and setting trends within the industry.
